Long time, No Blog

Things have been a bit busy at home, so I wasn't able to post here. I was still making cards, but I just didn't have the time to post.

I made this card for the EH Mix It Up Challenge.

I used the EH Bold Blossoms Stand Alone die to die cut watercolor paper that were colored with Twinkling H2Os, and also to die cut windows on the card front. I also used the Avery Elle Thank You die to cut the sentiment out of watercolor paper and black cardstock.

A piece of scrap patterned paper was glued to the back of the cardfront, then I glued the diecuts on to the cardfront.

And a few more flair designs from the Floral Bundle that I bought recently.

NSD Weekend Online Crop

I frequent a private message board and we had an online crop this weekend to celebrate NSD.
Here are some of the cards that I made.

I used the Waffle Flower Tiny Hearts Die and Tiny Star Die on my paper scraps, attached them to a piece of cream cardstock on a grid pattern, then glued it to a scalloped rectangle. I stamped a greeting from a PTI Birthday stamp set.

I also made some new flair designs from a Floral Bundle that I bought from hungryjpeg.com

Almost forgot this one

A simple card made with a new Hero Arts stamp set  stamped with a Hero Arts Ombre pad (Butter to Orange). The body of the butterfly and the sentiment was stamped with Black Archival Ink.

A Tale of Two Floral Cards

Can you tell I like flowers? LOL!

First up is a card made with the Bold Blossoms Stand Alone Die with a sentiment from Zipper Panel Die from Ellen Hutson. I used cheap watercolors to paint blobs of color where I planned to put the flowers and leaves. Then, I diecut the flowers and leaves from cream cardstock and glued them onto the card from made with watercolor paper. The next step is to glue the sentiment diecut from a scrap piece of black cardstock. All that is left to do is glue the front to a card base made from cream cardstock.

Next up is a card I made using Altenew's Vintage Roses stamp set. I stamped the innermost layer of the flowers with versamark and sprinkled gold embossing powder, then heat set it. Then I stamped all the layers of the flowers with various colors of dye ink, and fussy cut all of them. I arranged the flowers on the card front as I wanted, then stamped the leaves straight on to the card front and attached the flowers, popping the orange rose on the bottom with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment from Avery Elle's So Happy Stamp set on a scrap piece of cream cardstock, then heat embossed in gold and mounted to the card with foam tape.

Dry Embossing with Stencils

I have been thinking of trying this technique for a while, and today I finally did it. I followed Shari Carrol's tutorial on the Hero Arts Blog.

The photo doesn't really show it, but there is a faint outline of the Echoes stencil by The Crafter's Workshop.

I diecut the sentiment from a pink glitter paper and black cardstock, and glued them together with a slight shadow. I stamped the MFT Diagonal Stripes Background on a piece of white cardstock, and attached it to the bottom of the card front. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock with Black Archival Ink, and layered it onto a strip of black cardstock. As a finishing touch, I sprinkled some Cappuccino Perfect Pearls mist, then attached the whole card front to a white card base.

Making Rose Wallpaper

I am still enjoying the Altenew Vintage Roses stamp set. Today I stamped the smallest rose all over the card front aka wallpapering. I masked an area for the sentiment with some post it tape, but the ink bled through. I had to cut a piece of yellow cardstock to cover it. The sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink (celebrate) and an old set from MFT (it's your birthday)

I think it works better with the yellow piece. I mounted it on a piece of dark blue cardstock, then attached to a white top folding card.

Bold Blooms card

I didn't want to waste the extra blooms I cut, so I used it on another card. I used a Lawn Fawn greeting from this set.

Thank you card with Memory Box

I used an old Memory Box die to die cut watercolor paper and black paper, and glued them together on a card front with a die-cut circle window.

This is a card for the SSS Wednesday Challenge.

A is for

Avery Elle! I love this mini stamp set from Avery Elle. It is so fun to use.

I used HS inks (Mint) that I got from Michael's a long time ago, plus some Archical inks (Dandelion, Rose Madder). Stamped the greeting on the bottom and top of the card front with the various colors of ink. Stamped the balloon animal in Rose Madder, cut it out with the coordinating die and attached to a yellow die cut circle with foam tape, then glued the whole thing to a die cut black pinked circle.

Essentials by Ellen April Mix It Up Challenge and SSS Wednesday Challenge

Ellen Hutson has a new Mix It Up Challenge for April. You have to use products from Ellen Hutson Essentials and Lawn Fawn. This is what I came up with.

I used the Bold Blossoms Stand Alone Die to cut some watercolor paper that I colored with some Twinkling H2O. I cut the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn Cole's ABC dies from watercolor paper that was colored with yellow Twinkling H2O. I positioned the dies so that the letters would have the plain paper on the top of the letters. Glued the components on a black piece of cardstock cut with a stitched rectangle die, then glued it to a cream cardbase.

No Bulk Shaker Card

This was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's card. I used the SSS Stitched Rectangles to cut out the window on the front of the card. For the Happy Birthday sentiment, I die cut the letters from black glitter paper using this die set from Paper Smooches. Instead of just putting a piece of transparency behind the window, I lined it with some old paper from DCWV.

This is another entry for the SSS Wednesday Challenge.

A new card with the removable stickers

Maybe I should name this my Sticker Series.

I used the flower stickers and Wild Honey Distress ink, then stamped the sentiment from this set in black. Mounted the card panel on some black cardstock and glued the card front to a cream card base.

Time for another birthday card ;)

I used some of the Butterfly removable stickers from Michael's and inked over them with Milled Lavender and Tumbled Glass distress inks. Stamped a sentiment from an old Hero Arts set in Archival Jet Black ink, and done.

Another card for the SSS Wednesday Challenge and SSS Monday Challenge.

More pastel cards

Using that removable sticker that I got from Michael's with Worn Lipstick distress ink resulted into these cards. The sentiment came from this stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

Another birthday card for another day

I saw these removable stickers at Michael's and thought that they would work great as stencils.

And they worked great! No taping needed. I used Milled Lavender distress ink applied with a round foam applicator. The sentiment came from a PTI set (happy) and Little Yellow Bicycle (birthday) that I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby.

Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday Challenge

Pastels are the theme for the Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
I made birthday cards because I always need them.

Since Birthdays are the theme for the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp, I will be linking my card there too.

Using a pre-printed card from an invitation kit, I clear embossed the sentiment Make A Wish, then painted over with some Twinkling H2O in pink, yellow and green,

I wished I would have embossed in black or brown, so that the sentiment was more visible.

Live and learn, I guess.

Ellen Hutson: PIN SIGHTS CHALLENGE

My card for the challenge at Ellen Hutson blog.

I cut some glitter paper from DCWV with the Bold Blooms die from Essentials by Ellen line and the word "celebrate" from the dies included with the Zipper Panel die. I cut the word twice from thick white cardstock and glued them together for some dimension. Finished with some black and white enamel dots from my stash.

More foiling.

Printed a sentiment on a laser printer, then foiled with a rainbow one.

Something from a Heidi Swapp ephemera pack that I bought at Joann.

For the Mix it Up Challenge on Ellen Hutson's blog

I used the celebrate word die included in the Zipper panel die, and a Hero Arts stamp with Hero Arts red royal ink.
